ZF PRO team painting interior walls

Finishing starts before painting

A neat result begins with the condition of the substrate

Painting is not simply a matter of applying colour. The bond of the existing finish, visible defects, cleanliness and substrate type determine what must be corrected first.

ZF PRO works on interiors and exteriors in Tangier, adapting preparation, any required primer and the finish to the actual site. The final system remains subject to the selected product and its instructions.

Two settings, two approaches

Interior and exterior painting

Exposure, use of the premises and surface condition call for a different approach indoors and outdoors.

  • Interior painting

Walls, ceilings and compatible elements are assessed before protection, local repairs and application of the selected finish.

  • Exterior painting

Façades and exposed surfaces require a review of the substrate, previous finish and weather exposure before the system is defined.

Substrate preparation and finishing on a ZF PRO painting project

Decisive stage

Prepare, protect and make the substrate ready for its finish

A finish cannot reliably compensate for an unstable or poorly prepared substrate. ZF PRO identifies visible defects, loose areas and useful repairs before application.

The method varies by project. Cleaning, sanding, filling, local skim coating and a compatible primer may be considered according to the substrate and selected system.

  • Protect floors, equipment and retained elements
  • Check the bond of existing paint
  • Clean and remove loose material
  • Fill or repair defects as appropriate
  • Sand and remove dust where required
  • Use a suitable primer when specified by the system

Types of work

Painting work matched to the surface and its use

Paint selection depends on the substrate’s condition, its exposure and how the surface will be used.

  • Walls and ceilings

Preparation and finishing of interior surfaces according to their condition, room and desired appearance.

  • Local repairs and fillers

Correction of identified defects when those repairs are necessary and technically suitable.

  • Suitable façades

Exterior work after checking the surface, exposure and compatibility of the proposed system.

  • Professional and industrial premises

Work sequencing and finish selection based on use, access constraints and operating conditions.

Site sequence

From surface survey to final inspection

  1. Survey and brief

Identify the areas, expected standard of finish and site constraints.

  2. Site protection

Organise access and protect elements that must not be painted.

  3. Substrate preparation

Clean, repair and prepare according to the condition found on site.

  4. Primer where required

Apply a compatible primer when the substrate and system call for one.

  5. Paint application

Apply the specified coats in line with the selected product and site conditions.

  6. Finish and inspection

Review junctions and overall appearance, then clear the working area.

Selecting the finish

An appearance suited to the room and its use

Appearance and behaviour depend on the selected product. The choice is guided by use, substrate and maintenance expectations.

  • Matt, eggshell, satin or another appearance subject to the available range

  • Colour integrated with the interior or façade

  • Finish selected for the way the area is used

  • Consistent treatment of walls, ceilings and junctions

Frequently asked questions

Planning a painting project

Yes. Cleanliness, the bond of the existing finish and visible defects need to be checked. The exact preparation depends on the substrate and selected system.
It may be possible when the existing paint is sound and compatible. An assessment identifies cleaning, sanding, repairs or a possible primer.
The choice depends on use, desired appearance, maintenance expectations and available products. It should be confirmed against the selected product data.
Defects are identified first. Filling, local skim coating, sanding or another repair may be needed according to their nature.
Exterior surfaces face weather exposure and need a system compatible with both that exposure and the substrate. Indoors, room use and the desired appearance guide selection.
Timing varies with area, preparation, product, number of zones and site conditions. It is estimated after the project has been reviewed.
Use the Contact page to describe the areas and their condition. ZF PRO can then identify the information required and arrange a visit if necessary.
