Assess before application
Waterproofing is a continuous system, not an isolated product
A visible leak does not always reveal the source of the defect. Substrate condition, falls and outlets where relevant, upstands, junctions and penetrations need to be read as one assembly.
ZF PRO works on roofs, terraces and exposed areas in Tangier, selecting preparation and the solution family after assessment. Execution details remain specific to the substrate and actual system selected.

Where continuity has to be controlled
Open field areas matter, but junctions and penetrations often concentrate the most demanding details.
-
Open field areas
Review of the surface, its condition and the possible continuity of the system over the main area.
-
Upstands and perimeters
Assessment of vertical returns, wall junctions and connections around the edge of the structure.
-
Rainwater outlets
Review of the area around outlets and their integration with the system where relevant.
-
Penetrations and junctions
Appropriate treatment of penetrations, joints and interfaces with other building elements.
Assessment and preparation
Substrate condition and details govern the system’s performance
Before work, ZF PRO reviews the surface, defects, interfaces and sensitive areas. Local repair or more extensive preparation may be required before the new system.
The assessment also considers whether an existing system can remain, be repaired or needs a different intervention.
- Condition and cohesion of the substrate
- Falls and water flow where relevant
- Upstands and perimeter junctions
- Outlets, penetrations and other details
- Necessary repairs and preparation
- Compatibility of primer and selected system
- Protection or finish included where required
System families
Traditional or liquid waterproofing according to the project
ZF PRO assesses traditional and liquid systems according to the substrate, structure geometry and intended use.
-
Traditional waterproofing
A system installed according to its build-up, required preparation and complete treatment of junctions.
-
Liquid waterproofing
A continuous solution that may suit certain configurations, subject to compatibility and suitable preparation.
Technical sequence
Five stages for a structured intervention
-
Assessment
Identify visible defects, substrate condition and constraints in the area.
-
Substrate
Clean, prepare and repair according to the needs found on site.
-
Critical details
Treat upstands, outlets, junctions and penetrations within the selected system.
-
System
Install the chosen solution in line with its documentation and site conditions.
-
Control
Review visible continuity, details and finishing before completion.
Situations assessed
Roofs, terraces and exposed technical areas
Each situation calls for a review of the existing substrate and the way the area is used.
-
Roof terraces
-
Accessible terraces where suitable
-
Exposed technical areas
-
Upstands and parapets
-
Outlets and penetrations
